Derek's polo career started almost by accident. On a family skiing holiday, a brochure in the hotel caught his eye — a taster session at Polo Valley in Spain — and on a whim, he decided to give it a go. One chukka in, he was hooked, and what began as a spur-of-the-moment holiday activity grew into a genuine passion, eventually giving rise to Mono Polo itself.
Off the field, Derek is CEO of Phase II International, a pharmaceutical marketing company. He's a father of two — Hamish and Flora — and husband to Clare MacLennan.
